Online Ethics

This week some new terms we learned are the following: Ethics- are principles and morale's that govern peoples behavior.

Online ethics are the same thing but, online and other technological devices (yes this means cell phones).

Digital citizenship- is a safe responsible and ethical approach to functioning in the digital world.

Privacy-  respect others privacy online (don't be fake).

Self expression and Identity-present yourself honestly and genuinely in the online world and in real life.

Connected culture- basically is the Golden Rule: treat others how you want to be treated.

A new digital tool we learned how to use this week is called Animoto. It is a tool that allows you to put pictures and text to music and turn it into a video.

The bad thing about this tool is you can only put so much text in each box . The good thing though is it very simple and easy to use, anyone can use it. Anyone in the world could use it, because it is just so simple the way the website is laid out it makes it easy to navigate around the page.

This week we learned about what a digital citizen is also. This is like the reputation of someone online. If they follow all of the things that were defined above then you are considered a good digital citizen.

This will affect the way I do things online and be more careful about what I say online also, that way I can be a good digital citizen.

The week has been very long but, has been very good. I have not had any problems with any teachers. My schoolwork has been pretty easy and I have not had to many problems with it.

The people at school have not been to obnoxious. I am ready for this wonderful spectacular weekend of nothing but fun ( with a little schoolwork).

  1. Uh...Okay. This Blog is okay. It does include Animoto and the new terms, and the Grammar was good as well. I liked the way you used the word Golden Rule when you were mentioning Connected Culture. Anyway. Good job.
